FLASHBACK FRIDAY – THE 1984 SUMMER OLYMPIC GAMES

The 1984 Summer Olympics was held in Los Angeles, California. Carl Lewis won four medals and Mary Lou Retton scored a perfect 10 to become the first female gymnast from outside Eastern Europe to win the Olympic all-around title. In response to the American-led boycott of the 1980 Summer games in Moscow, several countries, including the Soviet Union, Cuba and East Germany, boycotted the games.
