[LISTEN] FLASHBACK FRIDAYS – CLASS OF 2000 – PART 1 – 5/11/12 (SUPER-SIZED)

[LISTEN] FLASHBACK FRIDAYS – CLASS OF 2000 – PART 1 – 5/11/12

This week’s Flashback Friday congratulates the Class of 2000! Since we survived Y2K, I thought why not celebrate by making the mix a SUPER-SIZED one with 40 songs! The new millennium continued to reign the charts with the bubble gum pop music from Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Backstreet Boys, *NSYNC, Jessica Simpson, Mandy Moore, 98 Degrees, A* Teens and so much more! We also heard some great hip pop songs from Destiny’s Child, 3LW and Aaliyah. Other genres like rap/hip hop (Jay-Z, Mystikal, Eminem), Latin invasion (Ricky Martin, Jennifer Lopez, Enrique Iglesias) and alternative rock (Bon Jovi, Lifehouse, Stroke 9, U2) also charted that year. The rise of pirating music came at all high with the help of Shawn Parker‘s baby, Napster, made it that much easier to share and download music amongst friends. Being a Freshmen in college I was exposed to so many different styles. If there was a period in my life where I could sum up the years that shaped my love of music, I would have to say it was between 1999 – 2000. Special thanks to my buddy Jason for helping me narrow down so many song choices. Hopefully you guys will enjoy this week’s Flashback Friday! These songs bring back so many great memories.
