STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS
FEATURING: Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Simon Pegg, John Cho, Benedict Cumberbatch, Anton Yelchin, Bruce Greenwood, Peter Weller and Karl Urban
DIRECTOR: J. J. Abrams
GENRE: Science Fiction
SYNOPSIS: Captain Kirk and the crew of the Enterprise face a one man weapon of mass destruction.
RATING: PG-13
RUNNING TIME: 132 Mins
THE GOOD: Benedict Cumberbatch’s (BCC’s SHERLOCK) wrath of “Khan” is the epitome of darkness. He is the perfect foil for Captain Kirk and Spock and is the main reason why you should see this film.
Unfortunately, he can do only so much to help J. J. Abrams’… whose second outing misses the mark.
J. J. Abrams’ lack of focus is unforgivable.
THE BAD: The foreign accents by Simon Pegg, Anton Yelchin and Karl Urban are so over the top and obnoxious, they make any serious scene laughable; not to mention just plain annoying.
THE UGLY: Peter Weller (ROBOCOP) as the second villain in this film is totally miscast. Unfortunately, he is not the right kind of ugly.
